NLG Board

The NLG Board provides strategic leadership and operational support to the National Leasehold Group and represents members on a day to day to basis. It also seeks to influence relevant initiatives (e.g. sector-wide consultations) and to promote the NLG via appropriate channels.

Alan specialises in Leasehold Training and Consultancy within the Public Sector. He is Co-Founder and Chief Executive of the National Leasehold Group, a large networking group for Leasehold professionals in Housing Associations.


Alan is involved in a number of cross sector initiatives with the aim of improving standards and education in property management. A Fellow of the Institute of Residential Property Management and a regular speaker at conferences.

Kevin was a founding member of the NLG way back in 2010 and has Chaired the group since 2016. He has huge experience managing wide-ranging portfolios of all property types throughout the country and prides himself on promoting a professional approach to delivering services to all customer groups. Kevin represents the NLG in various cross sector initiatives and is a popular speaker at numerous conferences.

In his spare time Kevin has a keen interest in comedy which he claims is borne out by his lifelong support of Leyton Orient FC

Marcus has worked in the social housing sector for over 25 years, originally as a housing officer in local government. He has a passion for improving the experience of customers and providing fair and equitable value for money services. Marcus is a housing diversity network mentor and believes in investing time in colleagues to help them achieve their potential and career goals. He firmly believes in making work an enjoyable experience. With a keen interest in politics and current affairs, he is passionate about the role housing can play in improving people’s lives both in terms of eradicating homelessness and making home ownership affordable for all.

Marcus lives in Bristol with Miranda his partner and in his spare time, plays Football and enjoys keeping fit. He enjoys listening to music and going to gigs/festivals, watching sports & movies, walking, travelling and good dining. He has represented his country in Martial Arts.

Sarah Chatfield - Director of Home Ownership, Anchor Hanover

Sarah has nearly 30 years of experience of working in housing. She has extensive knowledge of all aspects of home ownership and service charges in housing associations having undertaken roles in Circle, Hyde Housing and Metropolitan Thames Valley before joining Anchor Hanover. She is also a Board Member for Penge Churches Housing Association.


Sarah has two sons and is the only Grandparent on the NLG board with one grandson. She is a keen traveller with a particular passion for Italy and likes to keep fit by walking and running.

Becca Fury, Homeowner Manager - RHP

Previously with A2 Dominion and Hastoe, Becca is a key member of the National Leasehold Group. She has been on the NLG Conference steering group for many years and chaired the event in 2018. She is a well respected expert in all things Leasehold and an advocate of excellent customer service to homeowners. She believes this is achieved through shaping services around the customer to ensure simplicity and self-service.


Much of Becca’s spare time is spent chasing her toddler and dog around which helps with her love of keeping fit, as has her passion for Cycling and Running.

Another founder member of the NLG, Adrian has been a key driver in the success of the group. With experience dating back to the early 1980’s, he first became involved in low cost home ownership in the late 1990’s. Adrian has managed large portfolios for a number of Housing Associations and is a recognised expert on managing Adrian is a member of the CIOH, RICS and IRPM. He is also a board member of Southwark’s Homeowner Agency.

Adrian won the Individual Recognition Award at the 2018 NLG Conference and in his spare time is a keen Tennis player.

Stephen Walker - Director of Customer Operations, Moat

As Director of Customer Operations at Moat, Stephen has over 20 years’ experience working in the housing association sector. Specialising in a mixed tenure approach, Stephen has worked across a variety of functions including leasehold management, sales & marketing and development; giving him a rounded view of how to develop and deliver excellent leasehold services.


In 2011, Stephen worked as part of the Homes and Communities Agency’s project team to establish a new model lease for shared ownership.
